Allie Funnies

2 posts in 1 day! I am so amazing!

I try to write down the funny things Allie says just so I can put them on here and always remember how cray cray she is later in life.

Allie and Emmy and I were playing in the playroom and Allie found this white plastic tangram in the shape of a diamond. It was probably about the size of a quarter. Allie gasped ran to me and in a very shocked voice said, "oh no my tooth fell out!"

I opened Allie's door after her nap to tell her she could come out of her room and she was standed right at the other side of the door. She was not expecting me and I startled her. She said, "Oh my gosh you're tickling me! Uhhhhhh, I mean, you're surprising me!"

Allie was reading her valentines out loud she had gotten from her class. "Dear Emma, XYZ. 123. Thanks to be my friend. Amen."

Allie ran up to me and crossed her arms across her chest and made a pouty face. I asked her what was wrong and she said, "I am just a frustrating kid!"

And just so you know Emmy is pretty funny too. Here is a little clip of her dancing the other day.

Happy Balentine's!

Allie loves Balentine's Day. Or rather she just like to eat lots of candy so I think anytime she can incorporate sweets into her regular diet of mac and cheese and toast she is pretty excited.

Here are some pictures of our Valentines Day fun!

I picked the kids up from school after their parties. Allie had made this cool crown.

Nolan looks a little scared of me in the picture. They were both so excited for snacks and Calliou I could not get them to sit still for a pic together.

Next day was actual Valentine's Day and Allie wore her crown again and what she calls her "most beautiful dress".

Love, love, love indeed!

Also I have a bit of a confession to make. I don't do a lot of fun things with my kids. I worry about non essentials like laundry and picking up around the house which I know I could always do after they go to bed at night. I try to keep a routine up and sometimes that just ends us all in a monotonous loop. Our family's life can end up a little Groundhogs Day-ish.

So here is my idea. I will plan two extra sort of fun out of the ordinary activities with my girls each week. So two days out of seven will be fun. Sounds a bit lame but I am trying to not set myself up to fail. You know we have a lot of monotony to round out the rest of our week! It really just makes me plan ahead. If there was anything I ever learned from teaching it was that there was some prep work to be done if I wanted to have a successful day. And if there is anything I learned from being a parent it is that I forgot pretty much everything I ever knew about how to handle kids when I had my own.

So this weeks fun Pintrest activity was to make Valentine's Day cookies. I am sure you other moms do this everyday of the week but I was worried it would be too big of a challenge with a 3 year old and a 1 year old. I found this recipe here and it was really great! Fluffy, soft sugar cookies are my favorite. I made the cookies during naptime because I was worried how they would turn out but they were perfect! Allie and I whipped up the frosting together and I let her ice her own batch. Emmy got a spoon of icing to play with and was in heaven. It was a fun girls activity and I did not even have to yell at anyone! Valentine's Day success!!!

She was so proud of herself!

The A Donna Bowl

L-U-V Madonna!!!

I loved, loved, LOVED the Madonna Bowl. It totally made up for the fact I was completely disinterested in both the teams playing. Allie loves it too, especially the cheerleaders and the "bouncer" (tightrope guy). She also calls her A Donna. We watched it no less that 15 times today. Here is a short video I took.

Somebody's Getting Maaaaaaaarried!

It's my brother and Jen!!!

Chris called me last night to tell me the news and our whole family is all sorts of excited. We love Jen and she fits so well into our family. I think she is good for Chris and he treats her so well. It is so nice when your loved ones meet someone who is so perfect for them!

Coincidentally, Allie has been talking a lot about husbands and wives and marriage lately. One day she was asking me why I wear my ring everyday and I told her it was because mommy and daddy made a promise to be a family and married forever. She told me she wanted to marry daddy too when she gets bigger. I could see her thinking really hard about that and she found these two princess rings from some cupcakes she had she saved them to give them to her daddy. When Kyle got home from being out of town she gave him one to wear and then she wore the other. She can be such a sweetheart!

So this morning while I was getting everyone ready for school, I told Allie that Chris and Jen would have a wedding and then a big party for them. These were some of the questions she asked about it:

Will we celebrate? (I think she learned this word from Calliou)
Will we sing?
Will other kids be there?
Will we eat cake?
Can we have donuts too?
How about chocolates?
Can you wear your boots mommy and I will wear my boots and we will be twins?
Can we go tonight!??!!

She is mega excited but aren't we all?

Here is the ring! Congrats!

Enough Already!

My family keeps bugging me to blog, and although I have no real "material" to blog about, I will try to put together some funny Allie tidbits to entertain the masses (of like 5 people that read my blog).

Allie changes her clothes at least 4 times a day and it drives me batty. Everyday after nap she tries to put on an outfit that she puts together herself. Basically if it is all pink it matches, all blue it matches, etc. SO here is day pink.

This day she did not take a nap and was a major grump the rest of the day. She put her Christmas dress on backwards over her nightgown and then added a huge bow in her hair.

Allie is obsessed with the Grinch and has sticker chart going right now with the promise of the Grinch DVD as soon as she earns it. We have also been trying out a new church and on our first day there she told me she wanted to wear her Grinch t-shirt so she could scare all her new friends and make them cry. I persuaded her to wait until later on so we could make a slightly more appropriate first impression. And as a sidenote both my kids just super hate going to church so that has been really rewarding as well!

This is Allie's best impersonation of the Grinch:

Allie told me this afternoon when she gets older she wants to marry her daddy which I thought was so sweet. Then she told me she really wants to be a daddy and not a mommy when she gets bigger because daddies get to take showers instead of baths, wear cool clothes and are sillier than mommies.

Allie has her MobiGo in her room and is allowed to play it after she wakes up in the morning until we let her out of her room. The other night Kyle and I were sucked into watched Moneyball (awesome movie) and finally noticed sometime after 10 pm that she was up playing it in her bed. I went upstairs and told her to put it up and she immediately broke into an exhausted crying fit and wailed "but mom I have been playing for SO long!"

Allie has requested over and over that we please take her to get her hair cut just like Emmy's. Could you imagine!!??

And to end this on a very sweet note, I got to take Allie to the movies for the first time this weekend. We went to see Beauty and the Beast and she wanted to wear her Belle dress. She held my hand the entire time and sat in my lap when the beast first came on. Then when Belle dances with Beast in her pretty yellow dress, Allie asked me politely if it was ok for her to spin like Belle. It was an absolutely precious memory.
